Sanremo Festival 2026

At the heart of the Teatro Ariston — a venue that for more than seven decades has embodied the collective memory of Italian music — the 76th edition of the Sanremo Festival reaffirmed its standing as a cultural and media institution of the highest order. Within this setting, where every technical element contributes to shaping a shared national experience, the quality of sound reinforcement assumes a significance that extends beyond mere engineering, becoming an integral component of the artistic narrative itself.

For this edition, the auditorium was served by a dBTechnologies VIO L1610 system, complemented by VIO S218 subwoofers, VIO X205 units, and additional INGENIA loudspeakers deployed for reinforcement and system integration within the theatre. The configuration was conceived to address with precision both the stalls — driven directly from the stage in a left-right configuration — and the gallery, a structurally more intricate and acoustically demanding space.

The Ariston is far from an acoustically neutral volume. Its morphology, the stratification of reflective surfaces, the proximity between stage and audience, and the intimate yet deep architecture of the gallery demand meticulous control of directivity and energy distribution. Within this context, the VIO L1610 fully expressed its aptitude for tonal coherence and coverage precision, while the INGENIA units contributed discreet yet decisive support in ensuring spatial continuity and uniform intelligibility throughout the venue.

The contribution of the VIO S218 provided a low-frequency foundation that was solid, controlled, and seamlessly integrated, avoiding undesirable build-up while preserving clarity and depth even during the most dynamic passages. The VIO X205 units, deployed to refine coverage in the most critical areas, preserved homogeneity and articulation within the gallery, where sound propagation is inherently more complex and delicate.

In parallel with its presence inside the Ariston, dBTechnologies served as technology provider for the large outdoor Suzuki Stage, an increasingly prominent platform within the Festival ecosystem, hosting performances by numerous leading Italian artists. Here, a substantial deployment of VIO L210 modules, supported by VIO S118 subwoofers, ensured projection, impact and consistency across an open-air environment defined by entirely different acoustic variables. The configuration delivered authority and clarity capable of sustaining high-energy live performances while maintaining composure and control.

The presence of VIO and INGENIA systems across both the historic theatre and the Festival’s principal outdoor stage forms part of an established technological partnership with RAI, Italy’s leading national broadcaster, whose commitment to producing and transmitting the event requires uncompromising standards — both for the audience within the venues and for the millions of viewers following the broadcasts. In balancing the immediacy of the live experience with the rigour of broadcast production, the reliability and precision of dBTechnologies systems proved integral to the overall technical architecture.

In a context where tradition and innovation converge, the VIO platform contributed to shaping an authoritative and coherent sonic environment, one that remains deeply respectful of the Festival’s musical identity while meeting the expectations of contemporary production standards.
