VIO L212 for The PRISONER 709 Tour of Caparezza
Live debut in style on outdoor stages for the new 3-way line array VIO L212 by dBTechnologies, chosen as main PA for the outdoor tour of Italian artist Caparezza.

A dBTechnologies VIO L212 active line array system, completed in the low frequencies by the VIO S218 active subwoofers, is the main PA for Italian artist Caparezza’s outdoor tour, which includes the most prestigious stages of the Italian festival season.

The tour kicked off on June 29th at the Sherwood Festival in Padua, followed by 25 stops across Italy including Milan Tourin, Verona, Rome and Palermo.

Caparezza (southern Italian slang for “Curly Head”) is a rapper whose music is predominately described as hip hop, but his unique sound draws influences from genres such as metal, rock and pop. To date, he has released 8 studio albums which have been awarded with 2 golden records and 3 platinum records, and sold more than 125,000 tickets for his indoor tour this year. His latest studio work “Prisoner 709” was a huge success on main national radio stations.

For the debut date at the Sherwood Festival in Padua, the PA set up consisted of 16+16 VIO L212 top modules, completed by 8 VIO L210 modules used as frontfill and 24 VIO S218 active subs in cardioid configuration, controlled remotely by the Aurora Net software.

"I had the opportunity to listen to the VIO L212 while it was still in the testing phase," comments Antonio Porcelli, FOH engineer for Caparezza's live shows and head of audio for the production of the tour. "I have to say that this system won me over immediately, even though I had never worked with dBTechnologies systems before."

Porcelli continues: "In the following months I got to know dBTechnologies better as a company and I was impressed by the team of people behind the product, both for their competence and willingness to work together with customers. After several listening sessions I knew that VIO is the perfect system for the big venues in Italy, both arenas and festivals, and therefore also for Caparezza’s outdoor tour.

”At the first venue I had the opportunity to experiment and explore the potential of the PA system in a non-standard context, with a park that extends very far. Now I can say that I made the right choice and that VIO L212 is the best system we've used so far for any of Caparezza’s live shows.”
